TREASURER'S REPORT 2009
The bottom line saw the deficit for the year increase from £1422 in 2008 to £3617. But this hides the real story of the year, The boiler which has been a matter of concern for a number of years finally had to be replaced at a cost of £14260. Thanks to the magnificent response from all the members and friends a total of £9040 was raised by donations and events and this was supplemented by £2061 tax rebate claimed through the Gift Aid scheme.
Following the banking crisis there has been a significant drop in interest received but all in all it was a very satisfactory year from a financial point of view.

FINANCIAL REPORT 2009
In addition to the contributions towards the replacements of the boiler, noted above, there was also an increase in weekly offerings/standing orders, "loose" collection and harvest contributions, for which we are most grateful. Last year 2 more members opted to contribute via Standing Order, making a current total of 9. Gift Aid continues to be an important source of revenue and in 2009 we received almost £7000 as reclaimed tax on Gift Aid contributions. This figure includes £100 on Mission donations, £2061 on donations and "Swishing Evening" tickets for the Boiler Fund, and £4800 on weekly offerings and Standing Orders. Of the latter, the number of Gift Aid declarations fell to 39 during the year, as 3 members declared that they were no longer paying tax. Whilst we are sorry to lose revenue in this way, I am grateful to those concerned for updating me on their situation. Finally, my usual plea! if you pay tax and have not completed a simple Gift Aid declaration, please ask me for the appropriate form so that we can make maximum use of this scheme.
