OTHER GROUPS

THEATRE GROUP
The days of a pantomime production every year seem to be diminishing quickly as we lack enthusiastic new members, and dare I say it, some young blood. However we produced an excellent entertainment for the harvest supper comprising of items from the choir and individual sketches, music and monologues. We have some money in the kitty and it is proposed that in the near future the stage lighting will be improved. So, if you think you can help the Theatre Group in any way, please get in touch.

CHOIR

The choir goes from strength to strength under the very able leadership of John Raine. Thanks go to Meg, our former leader, and to Alex, Cathy and Richard Lake for all their help during the year, New members are always welcome.

PRAYER MEETING
The weekly Prayer Meetings take place, as in previous years, on Tuesday evenings, at 7.30pm, in the School Room. The exception is every third Tuesday of the month, when the Prayer Meeting takes place in the morning, at 10.30 am. This is a recent development, and for the people who find it difficult to attend the gatherings in the evening it offers the option of a morning devotional meeting. The evening sessions are led by Mr. Andy Smith and Mr. Richard Lake with the morning meetings normally taken by Mrs. Janette Roberts. The leaders use the Prayer Handbook with Lectionary (Bible) Readings, published by the United Reformed Church.    There is a small but faithful number of participants and the meetings provide the opportunity for people to pray for a variety of issues. Those named in the Healing Service as requiring prayer are also remembered in the Prayer Meetings, thus providing continuity of spiritual care.
God calls us all to prayer, but He calls some in a particular way to the Prayer Ministry. If you feel you want to respond to this vocation, join us and you will surely be blessed by being part of this Prayer Group.
